Valentines day is here again! Whether you are spending time by yourself, your girlfriends, or significant other, make sure to show yourself a little love too.
Here are my 9 tips for self love this Valentine’s day (or any day really):
Go out in Nature: It doesn’t necessarily have to be a national park, nature is all around you if you take a look, sometimes all you have to do is take a walk outside.
Try expressive journaling. By this I mean just express what you feel, on paper or keyboard, just get out what is in your head!
Write in a Gratitude Journal Daily: Journaling, again?! Yes!!! This is a more focused and intentional approach that will help you zone in on all the little things we often take for granted. Trust me, after your first few entries you run out of obvious things to write about and you start to look for little things to be grateful for.
Shower “Reset” Visualization: This one is a little weird for some, but I explain it a little more in the video below. If you believe energy is contagious, this one is for you! What I do is imagine clearing away any unwanted energy as I’m washing my body in the shower. This gives me a feeling of release from anything that does not serve my highest and greatest good.
Do Something Active: Sometimes sweating it out is all you need to lift your spirits and rid yourself of unwanted energy, especially highly intense energy.
Listen to Music you Love: Sing, dance, play an instrument, or simply just listen, whatever you choose, put your heart in it and you will feel better in no time. Music is healing.
Make time for “me” time. “Me” time is personal, fill in the blank with whatever makes YOU happy.
Laugh. It is said that laughter is the best medicine, for me I would agree (unless it’s a physical thing)
Spend time with loved ones: Whether that is your partner, family, friends, or your fur-baby, surround yourself with things that make you feel good.
Feel free to check out the video below where my friend Nohemi and I discuss these tips in more detail. I hope you enjoy!
